Under the mentorship of IIT-IIM alumnus Sanjeev Newar, Sewa Nyaya Utthan Foundation (SNU) has achieved major breakthroughs in taking Robotics to the most underserved, including Pakistani Hindu refugees living in Bharat.

Milestones:
2023
- In October 2023, six students from SNU’s education centre in Jodhpur cleared the zonal round of Asia’s largest Science and Technology Championship at IIT Bombay, named Techfest 2023. The event was held at Swami Keshvanand Institute of Technology, Management & Gramothan (SKIT)’s Jaipur campus.
- Two months later, these children, aged between 11 and 13 and from refugee families, reached the Techfest 2023 finals, standing on stage with top engineering students at IIT-Bombay.
2024
- In March 2024, four girl students from SNU’s education centre, all under 12, competed in IIT Delhi’s Tryst 2024 Robotics Challenge against BTech students.
- They built and demonstrated their own robots. Won Outstanding Performance certificates.
- The same year, in September 2024, SNU organised a two-day robotics workshop in Sambhal, one of Uttar Pradesh’s most backward districts.
- Over 100 government schoolchildren were trained; they experienced robotics for the first time at this workshop titled ‘Natkhat Robot’.
- Robots programmed to respond to Sanskrit commands.
- SNU gifted robots to 20 schools.
2025
- A team of Sambhal government schoolchildren from Classes 5 and 7, trained by SNU, became the youngest participants at IIT Delhi’s Tryst 2025 Technology annual fest.
- Competing against 35 engineering college teams, they secured an extraordinary 4th place, even excelling in a blindfolded challenge.
- The same month, the team from Sambhal competed against 250 engineering students in the Manoeuvre Robotics competition at Techkriti, IIT Kanpur.
- They won outstanding performance recognition.
- IIT Kanpur felicitated Sewa Nyaya Utthan Foundation for revolutionising STEM access for India’s most underserved children.
The Vision Ahead:
Sewa Nyaya Utthan Foundation has proven that when India’s most vulnerable are given tools of STEM and Robotics with the right approach and guidance, they can excel. The mission is clear: expand this model across districts and states, turning hidden potential into a national force for innovation.
