Rashtra Jyoti has launched an impactful public outreach campaign, starting Bihar. Rashtra Jyoti volunteers go door to door in villages to educate citizens about fraudulent methods adopted by illegal conversion rackets as well as provisions in the Constitution prohibiting caste reservations for Dalits to religious converts other than Hinduism, Buddhism and Sikhism.
Leaflets with useful factual information are distributed to the public.
The campaign has begun from Saran district of Bihar, and has already covered two gram panchayats in the area. The aim of this campaign is to spread across the country through ground volunteers.
Objectives of the Campaign:
- To inform Dalits and other marginalised communities that Scheduled Caste (SC) status is forfeited upon religious conversion, making them ineligible for reservations and welfare schemes meant for SCs.
- To raise awareness about how conversion mafias operate – using tactics like fake miracle healing, free education, ration, and cash incentives to lure the poor and divide society.
- To reinforce the message that while the Constitution guarantees freedom of faith, conversions through deceit or inducement are illegal and a social crime.
