Sewa Nyaya Utthan Steps in to Support Cancer-Stricken Pakistani Hindu Refugee With No Means to Earn
Sewa Nyaya Utthan supports Prem Bhil, a Pakistani Hindu refugee in Rajasthan struggling to earn a living after a cancer diagnosis.

Prem Bhil, a Pakistani Hindu refugee living in Rajasthan, hailing from the tribal Bhil community, has been struggling to survive after being diagnosed with cancer.
Originally from Sanghar district in Sindh province of Pakistan, Prem fled to India with his wife and son in 2019, seeking safety from religious persecution. Here, he lives with his wife and four children – a son and three daughters.

Upon reaching India, the family settled in the village of Gangana on the outskirts of Jodhpur, where Prem found employment at a local furniture factory. For some time, life seemed to offer a fragile stability. However, he developed an illness in his throat. His condition forced him to stop working. With no regular income, the family’s means of survival were severely strained. Later, they fund it was cancer.
His wife took the painful step of selling her jewellery to meet the cost of treatment. Prem spent about two months at Mathuradas Mathur Government Hospital in Jodhpur before being shifted to a private hospital. While the treatment at the private facility is provided free of charge, the medicines he requires remain expensive.

When Rashtra Jyoti learnt about the case, we sent a reporter to assess Prem’s condition. Without delay, Sewa Nyaya Utthan Foundation – our welfare arm – provided a month’s ration and ₹5,000 in financial aid as a first step.
“This monetary help will allow me to purchase the medicines I urgently need, which otherwise seemed impossible to arrange,” Prem said, expressing deep gratitude to Rashtra Jyoti and its founders Swati Goel Sharma and Sanjeev Newar for the timely intervention.

The Foundation has also assured of help in the coming months.
