‘Blind Will See, Lame Will Walk’ – Church-Linked Flyer Floods Village to Lure Converts

Share

Bihar: Rashtra Jyoti accessed a printed pamphlet being circulated in parts of Biharsharif, promising miraculous solutions to ailments, addictions and family disputes for those who “follow Lord Jesus Christ”.

Distributed under the name “Kosuk Church”, this flyer is laced with references to supernatural healings and invitations to weekly gatherings aimed at potential converts.

At the top, the pamphlet calls itself an “Aatma Bachav Kendra” (Soul Rescue Centre) and urges people to “FOLLOW LORD JESUS CHRIST”, presenting it as a one-stop solution for every impossible life problem (“jeevan ki har asambhav samasya ke hal ke liye”).

The pamphlet claims:

“The blind begin to see, the lame walk, the mute speak, and lepers are healed”

“Lives are changed, and people are freed from diseases, addictions and evil spirits”

Regular weekly meetings are advertised every Sunday from 12 to 3 pm at the Kosuk Church, located on Rajgir Road, Nalanda, Bihar. A mobile number is listed, along with a YouTube handle with the name ‘Kosuk church’.

At the bottom of the flyer is a Bible quote from Yohanna 8:12 , reinforcing the narrative that Jesus is the only light and path to salvation:

“He who follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

When Rashtra Jyoti called up the phone number, a woman picked up the call and simply said – “Come to Kosuk church for any questions. We cannot answer anything over the phone”.

Further search revealed that the YouTube channel associated with the church is named Prophet Pankaj Ministries’.

The channel is filled with staged miracle stories of women claiming miracles after they started attending prayers at the church. In one of the videos, a woman is seen saying that her son had been mute since childhood, but after she attended the church on the previous Sunday, he spoke for the first time.

Pamphlets Like These Are Core Tools of Conversion Machinery

Hundreds of groups like Prophet Pankaj Ministries operate under the radar across the country, and pamphlets like these are one of the tactics used by evangelical networks to reach their preys especially in rural, tribal and economically vulnerable areas.

Printed in low-cost, black-and-white formats, these are pushed door-to-door by local operatives, typically disguised as prayer or tuition or medical centres.

Bihar currently has no anti-conversion law, and that vacuum has become a goldmine for rackets like these.
